Mutual Academic Defense Compacts (MADC)
On March 28, the faculty Senate at Rutgers University, as part of the Big Ten, passed a resolution to “Establish a Mutual Defense Compact for the Universities of the Big Ten Academic Alliance in defense of academic freedom, institutional integrity and the research enterprise.” Rutger’s actions have catalyzed a movement of support by faculty Senates across the country—within the Big Ten and beyond.
